The blues-jazz composer Mose Allison (1927-2016) was a singular artist whose wry, laconic songs (Parchman Farm, Everybody's Cryin' Mercy, Young Man Blues) were hugely influential beyond the jazz world while remaining unique in jazz history. British blues-jazz legend Georgie Fame rated him “more important than Bob Dylan.”

The Chris Ingham Quartet, noted for their acclaimed interpretations of the music of Hoagy Carmichael and Dudley Moore, turn their attention to the Word from Mose.
