A few photos of Barnwell East and Barnwell West LNRs and a visit to River Lane, Cambridge

Barnwell East LNR
Today I thought I'd take the time to visit two local nature reserves (LNRs), Barnwell East and Barnwell West. The first I had not visited before, the second I had. It was a lovely, sunny spring day and so ambled around slowly, drinking in the sun and pausing long enough over lunch in Barnwell East to read a dozen or so pages of Tolstoy's influential essay On Life. I came back via Ditton Meadows and also stopped to take a close look at River Lane which was the subject of an obscure early 70s folk-rock gem by a Cambridge band called Melton Constable.
