A Google Document containing all the draft translations of essays by the Japanese Yuniterian (sic) Imaoka Shin’ichirō (1881-1988)
Before I begin, I would like to say thank you to all of you who drop into this blog, either regularly or only now and then. It’s hugely appreciated by me.
So, this blog has been going since August 2007, and it’s become, shall we say, rather a large and sprawling creature. At a certain level, this is fine, but it’s making it quite hard for me to know what’s on this site. Consequently, I’m going to archive a fair few pages in order to make this blog easier to navigate. If you discover that a page you value has gone in my editing process, simply contact me via the contact form on this blog, and I’ll send the text of it to you.
But the major reason for undertaking this is that there are currently lots of pages on this blog containing translations I have made of the writings of the Japanese Yuniterian (sic) Imaoka Shin’ichirō (1881-1988). Many of those translations have since been revised, and it’s obvious that I really need to take down the earlier versions and replace them with the new, and hopefully more accurate, ones! To this end, I have started to use a Google Document which contains all the current versions of these translations in one place. All the posts on this blog that contained a translation will now simply have a link to this document. That seems to be the easiest way to rationalise these pages. I hope that this makes sense.
Anyway, just for now, here’s the link to the Google Document, and below that, you’ll find a link to three introductory videos about Imaoka’s ideas about jiyū shūkyō, namely, a creative, inquiring, free & liberative religion. Enjoy!
