The Five Daily Prayers of Ittōen

On Sunday offered the Cambridge Unitarian community a short thought for the day which referenced the interesting Ittōen (一灯園) community and I thought that, perhaps, a few of you might like to see the five, daily prayers the community uses:

The Five Daily Prayers of Ittōen (一灯園)

Prayer for Enlightenment (Provisional)

May we be reborn and allowed to live through the one, non-dual, light.

May we revere the heart of all religions, and participate in the Great Vow of Unity.

May we freely serve others in the spirit of repentance and in gratitude for the gifts we have received.

May we make our way in the everyday world by following the Dharma, the sacred laws of nature.

And, in this way, may we return to our home, always rambling leisurely in the paradise of formless light.
