“Fascism, Renee Nicole Good, & Something Shifted Today” by Heather Cox Richardson

A few weeks ago I published a short reflection called “Trump and Hitler: A wise voice from the past says, ‘mutatis mutandis they are the same’”. In it, I pointed to some words written to me in 2016, just before Trump’s first term, by my good friend and philosophical mentor, Victor Nuovo.

Well, less than two months later, and the situation has got worse, a lot worse, which has only made Victor’s words more prescient. In order to give readers of this blog a sense of why this is the case, I paste below a video explainer called “Fascism, Renee Nicole Good, & Something Shifted Today” by the American professor of History at Boston College, Heather Cox Richardson. Do please take the time to watch this because I think she is right, something has truly shifted, and this shift will increasingly begin to be felt by us in the UK and Europe more widely in some very shocking ways.
